These air-dried beef sausages are seasoned with coriander, pepper, and nutmeg — delivering a robust, savory flavor and that signature dry snap. What droëwors actually is
Droëwors is biltong’s cousin. Instead of whole slices of beef, the seasoned meat is filled into thin sausages and air-dried until it snaps rather than bends. It eats completely differently from sliced biltong — drier, denser, more concentrated, and much harder to stop at one. The coriander and nutmeg are what mark it out as South African rather than European.
