KoRo Pineapple Rings 200g – 100% pineapple, nothing else

KoRo Pineapple Rings are dried pineapple rings from Costa Rica in a 200 g bag, and the ingredients list is one item long: pineapple. No added sugar, no oil, no syrup and no sulphur added to keep the colour bright. Just sweet, chewy tropical fruit that has had the water taken out and the flavour left behind.

Why these rings

One ingredient: 100% pineapple. Nothing is added, which also means nothing is hiding — the 61 g of sugars per 100 g all come from the fruit itself.

Grown in Costa Rica: The pineapples come from Costa Rica, where the climate does most of the work on sweetness before anyone starts drying anything.

Fat free and full of fibre: Per 100 g the rings contain 0 g of fat, 9.1 g of fibre, 2.3 g of protein and no salt at all.

Who makes it

KoRo Handels GmbH is a Berlin bulk food company that built its name on large packs, short ingredients lists and no unnecessary packaging. These rings are simply dried until they turn chewy and concentrated, with nothing added along the way.

Taste: Intensely sweet and tangy, like pineapple with the volume turned up.

Texture: Soft and chewy with a slight resistance — dried, not crisped.

Perfect for

Lunchboxes: A ring or two is an easy win in a packed lunch and it will not bruise on the way to school.

Breakfast bowls and baking: Chop into porridge, granola or a fruit loaf where you would otherwise use raisins.

Desk snacking: Sweet, portable and considerably less crumbly than the alternatives in the office drawer.

Frequently asked

Is there added sugar in KoRo Pineapple Rings? None. The bag contains 100% pineapple and the sugars listed are naturally occurring in the fruit.

Are they vegan? Yes, they are 100% fruit and suitable for vegans and vegetarians alike.

How should I store them? Keep the bag sealed in a cool, dry place. Note that KoRo flags possible traces of gluten, peanuts, soya, milk, edible nuts, sesame and sulphur dioxide.
