Chokay BIO Bar Extra Dark Caramel Peanut is an organic extra dark chocolate bar with crunchy peanuts, natural caramel and a hint of sea salt, made without added sugar or sweeteners. It is the salted-caramel-peanut idea rebuilt on 69% dark chocolate: rich and deep instead of sticky. Peanuts make up 30% of the 70 g bar, which you notice immediately.
What makes this one different
Extra dark at 69%: the darkest base in this line-up, with a minimum cocoa content of 65%. Caramel and salt have something solid to push against.
Peanuts at 30%: nearly a third of the bar. It is also why this is the highest-protein bar in the range at 12.7 g per 100 g.
No added sugar or sweeteners: 7.9 g carbohydrates per 100 g, of which 3.7 g sugars, no polyols, and 31.1 g fibre.
How Chokay builds it
Chokay is a Dutch brand working with premium Belgian chocolate and freshly roasted nuts. The caramel note comes from a natural caramel flavouring of organic origin rather than a sugar caramel, the salt is sea salt, and every marked ingredient is organic. Chokay wraps the bar in paper packaging and certifies it vegan, gluten free and fair trade.
