Wild West's spice-led variant — chilli flakes, smoked paprika, jalapeno flakes, garlic, black pepper. Different recipe from the rest of the Wild West range: no soy sauce, no apple cider vinegar, no pineapple. The lowest-sugar, lowest-calorie bag in the lineup, and the only one without soy.
A different recipe entirely
Most Wild West jerky leans on a sweet-savoury cure built around demerara sugar, soy, apple cider vinegar, and pineapple. Hot & Spicy takes a different path: real chilli flakes, smoked paprika, jalapeno flakes, and garlic powder do the heavy flavour lifting, with a much smaller demerara sugar component to balance. The heat is layered (smoky paprika underneath, jalapeno warmth on top of that, chilli flakes for the spike), and the result is the spiciest Wild West makes — without sliding into sweet-heat territory.
What's in it
Beef (175 g of raw beef to 100 g of finished jerky), Demerera sugar, onion extract, sodium nitrite, sodium ascorbate, natural flavouring, salt, black pepper, chilli flakes, garlic powder, smoked paprika, onion powder, potato fibre, jalapeno flakes, potassium sorbate.
- 32.5 g of protein per 100 g
- 15.9 g sugar per 100 g — lowest sugar in the Wild West range
- 2.9 g fat (1.2 g saturated), 234 kcal per 100 g — also the lowest calories
- Fibre 1 g per 100 g
- Salt 3.88 g per 100 g
- 175 g of fresh beef → 100 g of finished jerky — the most concentrated Wild West
- No soy — unlike the rest of the Wild West range
Who reaches for it
Wild West fans who want the brand's craft but more spice and less sweetness. Anyone with a soy allergy who's been locked out of other Wild West bags. Spice-curious snackers who don't want their jerky to taste like candy. Pairs well with a cold dark beer or a smoky cocktail.
