Taste-o-meter by Jerky Store

Saltiness

Sweetness

Softness

Spiciness

British-made beef jerky with the sweet-savoury profile that put Wild West on shelves across the UK. Demerara sugar, soy, apple cider vinegar, and pineapple build the cure — sweeter than Czech jerky, more layered than American.

What sweet jerky actually tastes like

The sugar isn't a marketing afterthought here — it's the recipe. Demerara (raw cane) sugar gives the strips their dark caramel notes; pineapple concentrate adds tropical fruit acidity; apple cider vinegar brings tang. The result is closer to a chewy beef sweet-meat than a savoury snack. Sugar comes in at 19.4 g per 100 g — sweet by any honest measurement, balanced by the soy and salt.

What's in it

Beef, Demerara sugar, water, soy sauce, sea salt, apple cider vinegar, pineapple concentrate, dried garlic, black pepper, dried onion, spices, sodium ascorbate, sodium nitrite.

  • 34.8 g of protein per 100 g
  • 19.4 g sugar per 100 g — sweet, not subtle
  • 4.6 g fat (1.9 g saturated), 290 kcal per 100 g
  • Salt 4.1 g per 100 g
  • Allergen: contains soy

Where it belongs

Road-trip glove compartment. Football-night snack table. The bag for someone who finds Czech-style jerky too austere and wants a strip that's clearly trying to be enjoyable rather than purely functional. Pairs surprisingly well with a hoppy IPA.
