Kuivalihakundi Jerky Advent Calendar: 24 doors, 24 different flavours
The Kuivalihakundi Jerky Advent Calendar swaps the chocolate for Finnish jerky. Behind every one of the 24 doors sits a different flavour from Kuivalihakundi, the jerky makers from Vantaa, so December turns into a tasting tour through beef, chicken and pork, from a plain Original all the way to tar and salty liquorice.

What is behind the doors
The beef jerky covers Original, Smoked, Garlic, Five Pepper, Teriyaki, Mild Habanero and Hot Naga. The chicken jerky brings Lemongrass, Sriracha, Butter Chicken, Smoky Chipotle, Kuku Paka Curry and Hot Bourbon BBQ. The pork jerky has Smoked, Wild Ginger, Smoky Sriracha and Terva-Salmiakki, the tar and salty liquorice one that only Finland could have come up with. Then comes Greasy Pork, cut from pork neck and collar so it eats softer and richer: the classic Greasy Pork, Korean Style, Smoky Apple BBQ, Jalapeño, Spicy Paprika, Cayenne Crimson and Joulupossu, which means Christmas pig and tastes of cardamom, cinnamon and orange peel.
Who it is for
The jerky fan who thinks they have tried everything. The friend who can never decide between smoky and spicy, because now they do not have to. The office Secret Santa, the brother-in-law, the neighbour who feeds your cat. Or yourself, obviously. Nobody checks who opened door number seven.
Frequently asked
Are all 24 flavours really different? Yes. Every door hides a different Kuivalihakundi flavour, and it says so right on the box.
How spicy does it get? Most doors are savoury rather than hot, but a good handful bring real heat. Save Hot Naga and Cayenne Crimson for someone brave.
When does it arrive? The calendar is available to pre-order now and ships between 10 and 30 October, well before the first door.
