Nordic-Style Beef-Jerky-Sandwich

Ingredients (serves 2)

Dark rye bread, 4 slices
Beef jerky, 40 g
Cream cheese, 120 g
Pickled cucumbers, 60 g
Red onion, ¼ small, thinly sliced
Fresh dill, a small handful
Black pepper, to taste

Metodo

If thick, slice the beef jerky into thin strips. If the jerky is very firm, let it rest for a few minutes at room temperature to soften slightly.

Toast the rye bread lightly if desired, then spread an even layer of cream cheese on each slice.

Arrange the beef jerky on top of the cream cheese. Add sliced pickled cucumbers and a few thin slices of red onion.

Finish with fresh dill and a light sprinkle of black pepper. Serve immediately as a light lunch, snack or part of a Nordic-style snack platter.

This sandwich is simple, satisfying and full of flavour. The salty jerky, creamy cheese and fresh herbs work together perfectly on dark rye bread.
