Cherky Beef Bar Spanish BBQ – a barbecue you can put in your pocket

Cherky Beef Bar Spanish BBQ is an organic beef and vegetable snack bar built around smoky, sweet-and-sour barbecue flavours. Cherky wanted the taste of a homemade barbecue sauce — smoked paprika, dried tomato, a splash of apple cider vinegar — without adding sugars or artificial aromas. The result is a 35 g bar with real chew, serious savoury depth and 29.28 g of protein per 100 g.

Why this beats a standard meat snack

Properly meaty: the bar is 73.6% organic beef, and it takes 188 g of beef to make 100 g of finished product. Nothing is padded out.

High in protein, low in fat: 29.28 g protein per 100 g with just 1.73 g fat. That works out at roughly 10 g of protein in one 35 g bar.

No added sugars or aromas: the sweet-and-sour side comes from dates and dried tomato, not from a sugar bag or a flavour lab.

How Cherky makes it

Cherky produces its bars in Ribafrecha, La Rioja, in northern Spain. Organic beef is blended with chicory inulin, dates, dried tomato, apple cider vinegar, sea salt, onion and garlic powder, smoked paprika and white pepper, then formed into a soft bar rather than dried into a strip.

Taste: smoky paprika first, then tomato sweetness and a tangy vinegar lift at the back.

Texture: soft and dense — closer to a meaty energy bar than to a piece of jerky.

Perfect for

After training: around 10 g of protein per bar, no wrapper-crumbs, and it fits in the small pocket of a gym bag.

Long walks and climbs: it does not melt, does not need a fridge and does not shatter at the bottom of a rucksack.

The 4pm office rescue: savoury, filling and considerably more interesting than the vending machine.

Frequently asked

Is Cherky Spanish BBQ organic? Yes. The beef and the vegetable ingredients come from organic farming.

How much protein is in one bar? The bar contains 29.28 g protein per 100 g, so a 35 g bar delivers roughly 10 g.

Does it need refrigerating? No. Keep it somewhere cool and dry and it travels perfectly well in a bag or a glovebox.
