The Jerky Store Advent Calendar is our own mixed calendar: behind every door sits a fully packaged snack from our range, so December stops being a countdown and becomes a month long tasting tour.

Why a mixed calendar

Most calendars give you the same thing 24 times. This one holds 24 snacks in total and at least 12 different products: classic beef jerky, biltong, game meat, poultry, dried fish strips and the odd steak bar, from brands across Europe and beyond. The fill is put together fresh for every production run, which is why we say it on the box: contents may vary per calendar. No two calendars are guaranteed to be identical, and that is rather the point.

This calendar contains products with celery, gluten, crustaceans, fish, molluscs, mustard, sesame and soy. May contain traces of peanuts and tree nuts.

Because the fill is mixed, we declare every allergen that can occur anywhere in the pool above. Each bag inside the calendar is fully labelled with its own ingredients, allergens and best before date, so you can always check the single snack before you eat it. Where each allergen comes from:

• Celery: spice blends in Jack Link's Sweet & Hot and Meat Makers Turkey Mustard Honey
• Gluten (wheat): the dried soy sauce in Jack Link's Original and Teriyaki
• Crustaceans: Sea Snacks Dried Shrimps
• Fish: the Sea Snacks fillet strips (cod, hake, redfish, flounder, salmon, trout)
• Molluscs: Sea Snacks Dried Mussels and Dried Giant Squid
• Mustard: Cherky Beef Jerky Honey Mustard and Meat Makers Turkey Mustard Honey
• Sesame: Fine Gusto Beef Jerky Teriyaki
• Soy: soy sauce or soy protein in most of the marinated jerkies
• Traces of peanuts and tree nuts: several of the suppliers produce on lines that also handle nuts
