Chokay Bio Snackbar Caramel Peanut – caramel, salt and 30% peanuts

The Chokay Bio Snackbar Caramel Peanut is a 30 g organic dark chocolate snack bar loaded with peanuts, natural caramel flavour and sea salt. The bar is 69% dark chocolate and 30% peanuts, so the crunch is constant rather than occasional, and the caramel and salt sit on top of the cocoa instead of burying it. No added sugars or sweeteners, vegan, gluten free and Fair Trade certified.

What makes this snackbar different

30% peanuts: Almost a third of the bar is organic peanuts, which is why it eats more like a snack than a dessert — and why it carries 12.7 g of protein per 100 g.

Caramel without the sugar: Chokay builds the caramel note with natural caramel flavour rather than added sugar. The bar has 3.7 g of sugars and 31.1 g of fibre per 100 g.

Vegan, gluten free, Fair Trade: No dairy, no gluten, Fair Trade certified cocoa, and paper packaging instead of plastic.

Who makes it

Chokay is a Dutch chocolate maker based in Breda, in the Netherlands. Every ingredient in this bar is from organic origin, and the dark chocolate is built on inulin fibre, cocoa mass, cocoa butter and skimmed cocoa powder rather than a sugar base.

Taste: Dark cocoa first, then caramel, roasted peanut and a pinch of sea salt to finish.

Texture: Firm dark chocolate with a heavy, satisfying peanut crunch.

Perfect for

The 4pm gap: A single 30 g bar is enough to get you to dinner without raiding the vending machine.

Gym bag and glovebox: Compact, sealed and paper-wrapped, so it travels well.

Sweet and salty cravings: Caramel, salt and peanut is a combination that has never once needed defending.
